Create collections to easily store and share your arts & heritage digital assets

Let ResourceSpace curate your digital treasures

We know that in a museum or gallery environment, you’re processing, maintaining and cataloguing thousands of items for conservation and public consumption. But just because many of your artefacts may be ancient, doesn’t mean your systems have to be.

ResourceSpace is a leading DAM for museums, and other arts and heritage institutions to manage the vast array of digital content that is created when managing important collections. Whether you’re photographing stock for archiving, submitting condition reports, or creating images to exhibit online, you need Digital Asset Management software that can treat your assets as carefully as you do.

Seamlessly integrated with TMS, EMu, MuseumPlus & more

If you use a collection management system like The Museum System, EMu or MuseumPlus throughout your working day, you can now combine the systems you already rely on with ResourceSpace for unified transfers and syncing with your Digital Asset Management system.

By using ResourceSpace in conjunction with your existing Collection Management System you’ll be able to immediately sync data from one system to another. ResourceSpace can connect your digital photograph or video of an item with the data related to that piece in the Collection Management System, automatically retrieving information such as its Object Name, Object Number, ID, Classification, etc – saving you time on manual input.

Integration with a wide variety of other systems is possible using our extensive developer API, and if you don't have the development resource in house our integration partners can help.

The TMS link is probably the biggest and most valuable customisation that we’ve had because it’s saved us decades of cross cataloguing!

Features you’ll want to exhibit

Arts and heritage institutions like yours are responsible for a wide range of works and artefacts, meaning you’re producing and sharing a varied collection of related digital content. ResourceSpace supports museums by acting as your online hub for managing, storing and distributing the photographs, videos and documents related to your exhibits and library.

  • Integrate your Digital Asset Management system with TMS, EMu, MuseumPlus & many more
  • Automatically sync rights, reproduction and object data within the DAM
  • Configurable DAM interface to match the branding of your institution
  • Manage, review and approve user uploads
  • Digital condition reporting from any location
  • Provide secure external access to content
  • Open Source software for unlimited development potential

Condition reporting

ResourceSpace streamlines the process of inventory condition reporting and allows you to carry out and submit this report digitally, transforming the way you assess and protect artefacts.

We use it for condition reporting, and this is going to sound like a ResourceSpace commercial but the shareability has totally changed our world.

Because it’s so easy to share in ResourceSpace, either by email or in collections, and because we can access ResourceSpace off site, which is another new thing for us, our registrars will upload condition reports into ResourceSpace and then wherever they are in the world they can have access to them at any time.

They actually do these documents on an iPad now and then just upload them to ResourceSpace, so it’s amazing.

Streamline licensing workflows with MONA

MONA is a cloud-based Digital Rights Management (DRM) platform developed by CultureTech that enables rights holders to manage data and IP licensing seamlessly. It simplifies and automates the licensing of copyright-protected content.

With our ResourceSpace–MONA integration, your licensing management workflows are enhanced by establishing a direct connection between the two systems. This allows you to import images and metadata from your DAM straight into MONA, streamlining the process and reducing manual input.

Case study: The Ashmolean Museum

An example of an arts and heritage institution that has benefited from implementing ResourceSpace as its Digital Asset Management system is the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.

The museum houses a vast collection of antiquities, including works of art and archaeological artefacts, and required a single source of truth for all of these objects and the digital assets that relate to them.

Following the implementation of ResourceSpace, any new and updated objects in the Ashmolean’s collection only need to be provided with one set of data thanks to the seamless integration with their collections management system, MuseumPlus.

For more information on how ResourceSpace streamlined The Ashmolean Museum's digital collection, read the full case study.

I can export hundreds of thousands of rows of data in the blink of an eye, and it runs perfectly each time… I exported 600,000 objects in 15 minutes–it’s really fast!

The ResourceSpace team is very transparent with their roadmap and they’re open to listening to customer feedback and implementing changes off the back of it.”
